Frequently Asked Questions

Nope. Our company name has long been Passaic County CASA, which worked when there was one program. However, over time, the New Jersey Safe Babies Court Team and Open Door Store programs were added, which meant Passaic wasn't the only county reached. After expanding into Union County to serve children in care there, it was time to operate under one name that encompasses all programs and isn’t limited by geography.

The Child Focus name allows us to expand program services in a way that avoids identity confusion, and allows us to operate in multiple counties in New Jersey without a name linked only to one geographic area. After all, we run the CASA programs in Passaic and Union counties, the New Jersey Safe Babies Court Team in Essex, Hudson, and Passaic counties, and the Open Door Store serves children in care in all of these counties.
-
Absolutely. We work in close collaboration with both organizations and continue to adhere to both New Jersey and National standards.

No, we are not an adoption agency. We work with children removed from home due to abuse or neglect and who are now living in foster care.
