Senior Relationship Manager, Individual Giving

Summary
Child Focus is seeking a passionate individual to join the staff as Senior Relationship Manager focused on Individual Giving to support its transformative work supporting victims of child abuse and neglect. This position is ideal for an experienced development professional with a passion for making an impact on the child welfare and foster care systems in NJ. The Senior Relationship Manager, Individual Giving, plays a key role in strengthening and expanding the base of individual supporters for Child Focus. This position leads individual donor fundraising efforts, including acquisition, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. The Senior Relationship Manager partners with the Executive Director, Development Operations Manager and the Board to grow philanthropic support from individuals, with a focus on sustaining annual gifts, upgrading mid-level donors, and building a strong pipeline for major giving.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Acquisition & Growth
Develop and execute strategies to attract new individual donors, including digital campaigns, peer-to-peer fundraising, and targeted outreach.
Identify and qualify prospective mid-level and major donors to expand the giving pipeline.
Donor Stewardship & Retention
Manage a portfolio of individual donors, ensuring regular and meaningful engagement.
Create and implement stewardship plans that deepen donor loyalty and increase retention rates.
Partner with Communications staff to prepare donor impact reports, appeals, and recognition materials.
Solicitation & Portfolio Management
Personally solicit gifts from mid-level donors; support the Executive Director with preparation for major donor asks.
Develop customized cultivation strategies for donors at different giving levels.
Monitor donor-giving patterns to identify opportunities for upgrade and special engagement.
Campaign & Event Support
Lead individual giving components of annual campaigns (direct mail, digital, workplace giving, recurring- donor programs).
Collaborate with the Development Operations & Events Manager to ensure effective donor data management, campaign execution, and donor recognition.
Participate in donor-facing events and represent the organization in the community.
Build relationships to result in event or organizational sponsorships
Strategy & Leadership
Contribute to the overall fundraising strategy, aligning individual giving with organizational goals.
Provide donor relationship insights to staff leadership and the Board.
Maintain accurate records of donor interactions in the CRM.
All staff members are required to complete the pre-service training for Court Appointed Special Advocates and serve as an advocate for a minimum of one case.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree a plus.
5+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience with a track record in individual giving, donor stewardship, and solicitation of 5-figure and larger gifts
Strong relationship-building skills enabling robust donor engagement that inspires generosity and long-term commitment..
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to execute dynamic donor engagement and fundraising strategies that involve planning, problem-solving, and adaptability.
Experience managing a donor portfolio and moving donors through the cultivation cycle.
Familiarity with donor databases (CRM systems) and fundraising technology.

Child Advocate-Legal

Summary
This position serves as the Distance Placement Child Advocate for the CASA of Passaic and Union Counties program responsible for ensuring the best interest of children in the foster care system by assisting staff and volunteer advocates with visiting children residing across the State of New Jersey and advocating for their best interests in the child welfare and court systems. The role is responsible for visiting each child on their caseload monthly, representing their best interest in court, and facilitating solutions to meet their needs.
Responsibilities
Serves as the Court Appointed Special Advocate for a caseload of 10-12 youth in the foster care system.
Maintains detailed records and reports of all activities and contacts.
Conducts monthly face-to-face visits with children at their home for children placed more than 60-90 minutes away from Passaic and/or Union County.
Drives to locations across the state of New Jersey as required by the organization’s caseload to access information or conduct in-depth interviews. (Requires reliable personal vehicle, mileage and toll reimbursement.)
Interviews and maintains contact with service providers, caretakers, and educators in order to promote the best interest of the child to the Court.
Enters all data and activity into the organization’s “Optima” database system, upload documents electronically to the system and proofread documents as needed.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Attends monthly staff meetings and Advocacy Supervisor meetings.
Attends continuing education at the staff level regarding volunteer management, child welfare and related topics (20 hours required.)
Offers constructive feedback to improvements and advancements for the CASA organization.
Skills & Experience
Working knowledge of family court functioning. Experience working with the Division of Child Protection and Permanency or in the court system a PLUS!
Knowledge of local community resources in their county including early childcare and education, health, mental health, child welfare, early intervention, substance abuse, MICA, and behavioral health is a PLUS!
Fluent English writing and verbal abilities required. Spanish bilingual a PLUS but not required.
Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary group.
Knowledge of issues related to child abuse and neglect.
Knowledge of ACEs/trauma and its impact on family functioning.
The ability to think on one’s feet and be creative is a must for this position.

Child Focus, Inc. seeks a detail-oriented and motivated Data Analyst to support the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) program and the organization’s financial operations. This role combines data management and program evaluation with financial analysis tasks, assisting the CFO in preparing allocations, budgets, and grant-related reports. The ideal candidate will have advanced Excel skills, strong analytical ability, an organized and efficient work-style, and extreme attention to detail, and will be eager to contribute to both program impact measurement and financial accountability.
Responsibilities
Program Data & Analysis
Manage, clean, and maintain CASA program and volunteer data in Excel and related systems.
Conduct advanced analyses to track outcomes, program performance, and key metrics.
Develop and maintain reports and dashboards for staff, leadership, and funders.Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance of program data.
Identify trends and insights to inform program improvement and strategic decisions.
Financial Analysis & Budget Support
Assist the CFO in preparing financial allocations for programs and initiatives.
Develop and maintain Excel-based tools for tracking budgets, expenditures, and grant allocations.
Support the preparation of grant-related financial reporting, ensuring alignment between financial data and program outcomes.
Reconcile program data with budget and financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Perform financial data entry, quality checks, and variance analyses as requested by the CFO.
Collaboration & Reporting
Work closely with CASA program staff to understand data and reporting needs.
Partner with the CFO, Director of Strategy and Impact, as well as the Executive Director on grant compliance and reporting.
Document processes and maintain accurate records of both program and financial data management practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in data science, finance, statistics, public policy, social sciences, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, complex formulas, conditional formatting, financial modeling, charts).
Strong data cleaning, quality control, and error-checking skills.
Excellent organizational skills and commitment to accuracy.
Strengths in planning and prioritizing tasks and time
Ability to analyze and present data for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Familiarity with budgeting, allocations, or nonprofit financial reporting is a plus.

Work Location: Hybrid – Wayne, NJ 4 days per week, 1 day work from home.
Advocacy Supervisor

Summary
The Advocacy Supervisor is responsible for the coordination and supervision of all volunteer activity and case management. The Advocacy Supervisor will develop and maintain professional relationships with all interested parties including the judge, court staff, lawyers and state and community agencies. The Advocacy Supervisor will also be responsible for assisting with the screening, and training of all volunteers.
Responsibilities
CASE MANAGEMENT
Attend court hearings, take notes, and provide support to volunteer advocates advocating for the best interests of children in their appointed case;
Draft appointment or termination orders and locate and copy case files when necessary
Record notes into Optima database and see that court orders are scanned into Optima database;
Review and research case file history to select and initiate orders for case assignment to appropriate volunteer;
Respond to orders when assigned by Judge or any interested party;
Keep necessary records as described by case management procedures in Optima database;
Contact parties and professionals involved in case if volunteers are unable to do so;
Conduct home visits, school visits, and attend IEP meetings when necessary;
VOLUNTEER SUPERVISION
Provide support and guidance to volunteer advocates;
Accompany volunteers to court hearings and visitations when possible and appropriate;
Keep regular contact with each assigned volunteer;
Track volunteer’s required monthly visits with children;
Keep necessary and appropriate volunteer case records in accordance with case management procedures;
Be available for consultation and assistance to all volunteers sometimes during off hours;
Edit volunteer court reports or write reports when necessary, sending to appropriate parties in accordance with case management procedures.
VOLUNTEER TRAINING
Assist with volunteer screening and interview process;
Assist with development of training topics and procedures;
Assist with training of volunteers and critique volunteers during training when appropriate;
Assist with securing guest speakers for in-services and attend in-services when possible.
PROGRAM ACTIVITIES
Attend all available conferences and workshops for the development of programs for volunteers;
Assist in orientation of new staff, interns, and volunteer office help;
Attend monthly staff meetings and Advocacy Supervisor meetings;
Assist with and attend volunteer appreciation; fundraising, and other CASA events noting that lifting and carrying of items (i.e. holiday gifts, clothing, school supplies, event décor, etc.) may be required;
Attend continuing education at the staff level regarding volunteer management, child welfare and related topics (20 hours required);
Nominate “volunteer of the month” and provide written statement as to why they were nominated;
Provide blog posts, and website content to communications department;
Offer constructive feedback to improvements and advancements for the CASA organization.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or other related field is required. Masters level /JD is strongly preferred. Previous experience (minimum of one year) with volunteers, advocating for others, children’s rights, the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP) and/or the court system is required. Ability to pass various background checks required.
Salary: $55,000-$65,000. Salary based on experience and level of education.
Reports To: The Program Director and the Executive Director.
Work Location: This position will cover cases in both the Union and Passaic County, NJ court jurisdictions and be based out of the Wayne, NJ office. Attendance in court and office hours in both Elizabeth and Paterson is required based on caseload.
